Celebration of LIfe
Memorial Service
for
Brother Lewis P,
Hassell, Jr.
Sunday, December 2 at
1:15PM
following morning
worship and fellowship
The word ADVENT means coming or arrival and it is a celebration of
the appearance of God among us in the form of a tiny baby born in a
lowly stable in Bethlehem.  It is also a time of preparation in
anticipation of His coming again.  Each Sunday of Advent, we light
candles in our Advent wreath to symbolize centuries of darkness as
the world awaited the birth of the Messiah.  The greenery of the
wreath symbolizes God's gift of life.  The Circle of the wreath
symbolizes God's eternity, without beginning or end.  The three
purple candles represent Hope, Peace, and Joy.  The pink candle
represents Love.  On the last Sunday of Advent, we  also light a
single white candle to represent the Light of the World, Our Savior,
Jesus Christ Who was born to us on the first Christmas morning.
On the 1st Sunday of Advent, we celebrate HOPE,
We remember Israel's Hope for the coming of God's
Messiah to save, to forgive, and to restore them.
We affirm our hope for the second coming of Jesus
We prepare to welcome Christ, the Messiah, at
Christmas into our world....and into our hearts.
On the 2nd Sunday of Advent, we celebrate
PEACE.
We pray for peace on Earth and in our lives.

We prepare to welcome Christ, the Prince
of Peace, at Christmas into our
world....and into our hearts.
On the 4th Sunday of Advent, we
celebrate
JOY.
We celebrate the birth of our Lord and
Savior, The Light of the World!
We welcome Christ, Giver of Eternal
Joy, at Christmas into our world....and
into our hearts.
On the 3rd Sunday of Advent, we celebrate LOVE.
We seek to love ourselves and others as Christ
loved us.
We prepare to welcome Christ, the Lord of Love, at
Christmas into our world....and into our hearts.
